Charlotte has extensive experience serving as litigation and corporate counsel to clients across diverse industries, including the financial services, real estate, healthcare, medical device, manufacturing, technology, telecommunications, retail and consumer credit sectors. Her business background helps strike a balance between a client’s litigation needs and business goals, resulting in efficient resolution of any disputes that may arise.
Prior to joining Yu | Mohandesi, Charlotte was a litigator with Reed Smith LLP, where she focused on commercial litigation and handled complex business dispute matters, resolving a myriad of cases involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, unfair competition, false advertising and business torts. She also defended major financial institutions in putative class actions, successfully obtaining dismissals before class certification.
In addition, during a prior foray into small firm and solo practice after gaining valuable real world business knowledge through her MBA training, Charlotte handled corporate employment-related appellate work for high-tech clients, and advised individuals, companies and non-profit boards on real estate, contract formation, employment, trademark infringement, director/officer liability, financial, marketing and strategic business operations matters.
In recent years, Charlotte added to her practice portfolio by defending financial institutions and consumer finance companies against individual and class action claims involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and various state-level consumer credit and unfair competition laws in multiple federal and state courts across the nation. Charlotte has also taken on advisory roles to help clients avoid potential lawsuits and to minimize exposure to potential liability. Achieving efficient resolution of disputes with practical business sense remains a focal point of Charlotte’s practice.
